HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR

FRESH FLOWER ARRANGEMENT

Fresh flowers are generally received arranged in 3 different ways:

Fresh flowers need care and the better you care for them the longer they last.

Never leave the arrangement in direct sun or in a hot or freezing cold room.  Keep the flowers away from drafts and candles.

A vase arrangement should have the water changed every 3 days and the stems can be given a fresh cut.  Flowers take up a lot of water the first few days and less as time passes.

An arrangement in floral foam needs to have water added to it daily.  You can check the water level by placing your finger down the inside of the container.  It is advised that you fill the container at a sink, dry the bottom and do not place on a wooden table top.

An arrangement of boxed or wrapped flowers needs to be placed in water immediately.  Remove the flowers from the box or wrapping, clean off the foliage that goes below the water level, cut the stems with a knife or sharp scissors and place in water with flower food.
