Members of the American Institute of Floral Designers are distinguished by the letters "AIFD" used as an addenda to their name and are found in virtually every aspect of floriculture.
Membership in AIFD is selective. To be accepted the applicant must successfully complete the accreditation evaluation process through actual on-site design prior to AIFD National Symposium.
The annual National Symposium is considered the world’s foremost floral event. AIFD presents and supports a variety a educational activities and sponsors AIFD Student Chapters at major colleges and universities with programs in floral design.
The South Florida Center for Floral Studies is an AIFD Educational Partner. The partner program was started by AIFD in 2004 as an alliance between AIFD and selected floral design schools.
The American Institute of Floral Designers inducts two students from the South Florida Center for Floral Studies. Maria Lebron from Puerto Rico and Douglas de Rezende from Silver Spring, MD were inducted into AIFD in Washington D.C. at National Symposium.

What is AAF?
The American Academy of Floriculture was established in 1965. AAF recognizes industry members that meet the Academy’s highest standards of service to their industry and community. Nomination and acceptance into the Academy is open to qualified persons in all segments of the industry and induction takes place at the Society of American Florists Annual Convention. Current Academy members include retailers, wholesalers, growers, educators, scientists, designers and business persons in allied services.
